NBI XI debunks report of arrest of Quiboloy’s co-accused

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — “That’s not true,” stated National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) XI Regional Director Achie Albao as he firmly denied reports claiming that the co-accused of fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy had been arrested.

“Fake news ‘yan. Hindi namin nahuli ‘yung apat na co-accused ni Quiboloy. It is not true,” Albao told Newsline in an interview at 7:23 AM on August 14.

Albao explained that a search operation was conducted at Quiboloy’s “kingdom” last Friday afternoon, but none of the individuals were found there.

Recent online reports suggested that four other respondents in Quiboloy’s cases — Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, Jackielyn Roy, and Sylvia Cemanes — had been arrested. These individuals are currently wanted, each with a bounty of P1 million for their capture.

The NBI has been actively pursuing leads related to the ongoing cases against Quiboloy and his associates, who are facing various charges, including human trafficking and illegal detention.

The agency continues to urge the public to refrain from spreading misinformation and to report any credible information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts.

Currently, the investigation remains ongoing, and the NBI is committed to bringing those involved to justice.
