DAVAO CITY, Philippines — In a gesture of gratitude to former President Rodrigo Duterte, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) has expressed its readiness to provide security escorts for Vice President Sara Duterte, should she deem it necessary.
Rolando Olamit, MNLF Davao State Chairman, stated, “We are prepared to offer security escorts to the Vice President as a way to repay our gratitude to her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, who has always supported the MNLF.”
He added that the Vice President can decide how many escorts she requires, but emphasized the importance of following legal procedures, including obtaining safe conduct passes for travel to Davao City.
Olamit also called for the resignation of Philippine National Police Chief Rommel Marbil, asserting, “We know you are caught in a difficult situation, and it seems someone is dictating your actions. To protect your integrity, I suggest you resign. The PNP should not be politicized; it is an organization meant to protect the people and uphold the Constitution, free from political influence.”
He further stated, “We know how to execute this legally, and I will also call on all retired MNLF members to join this effort to protect the Vice President. We are from Davao; we are from Mindanao, and it is our duty to ensure her safety.”
The MNLF is prepared to secure the Vice President and is awaiting her call to arrange for safe conduct passes.
