Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will implement a series of power interruptions on Sunday, August 25, and Tuesday, August 27, 2024. These interruptions are necessary to facilitate substation and line maintenance in the northern part of Davao Light’s franchise area.
Sunday, August 25:
- To minimize disruption, affected lines will be temporarily transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on August 25. The following areas will be impacted:
- Panacan area to Unifrutti and Tibungco Public Market Malagamot Road
- Diversion Road Panacan to F. Bangoy International Airport entrance Buhangin area from Mamay Road to Buhangin Memorial, Gaisano Citygate, Milan, Cabantian Road, Amakan, Indangan, and surrounding areas
- Downtown area from J.P. Laurel Bajada to Bankerohan, MTS, Sandawa Road, parts of Torres Street, Obrero, C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Quirino Street, Bonifacio Street, Ilustre and Magallanes Streets, and nearby areas
- GMall Toril to Sirawan, Baracatan, Inawayan, and surrounding areas
- Entire Lanang, Sasa, Pampanga, R. Castillo Agdao, and nearby areas
- Buhangin area from Camella Northpoint to NHA Buhangin, the entire Tibungco area, Ilang, Mudiang, Holcim, Steel Asia, Bunawan up to Licanan, Tadeco, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, and Licanan up to Panabo, and San Vicente area to Carmen
Tuesday, August 27:
- The normalization of service or return to the usual setup will occur for another 30 minutes between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on August 27. Affected areas include:
- Bunawan to Licanan, Tadeco, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, and nearby areas
- Licanan up to Panabo, and San Vicente area up to Carmen
- Tibungco area, Ilang, Mudiang, Holcim, Steel Asia, Panacan area to Tibungco Public Market
- Entire Lanang, Sasa, Pampanga, R. Castillo Agdao, and nearby areas
- Downtown area from J.P. Laurel Bajada to Bankerohan, MTS, Sandawa Road, parts of Torres Street, Obrero, C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Quirino Street, Bonifacio Street, Ilustre, and Magallanes Streets
- GMall Toril to Sirawan, Baracatan, Inawayan, and surrounding areas
- Buhangin area from Camella Northpoint to NHA Buhangin
Additionally, a two-hour power interruption will take place on Tuesday, August 27, from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. to facilitate a line device repair at Panacan Substation. Affected areas will include:
Customers from Panacan Substation to Airport View Diversion Road up to Unifrutti Ilang
- Following this, there will be another 30-minute normalization period between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on August 27, affecting:
- Panacan area from DPWH to Tibungco area, including Buhisan and Malagamot Panacan
Davao Light apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions and will make every effort to restore service as promptly as possible. However, please note that restoration times may be extended due to unforeseen circumstances.
Safety is a top priority. Davao Light urges the public to exercise caution around maintenance areas and to adhere to warning signs and safety instructions, especially in areas where heavy equipment is in use.
