DAVAO CITY, Philipines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Iligan District Office inaugurated its new Kapatagan Satellite Office on July 1, 2024, marking the fruition of a long-term project aimed at bringing essential services closer to the people. The establishment of this office is set to enhance the convenience and accessibility of NBI Clearance Services for residents of nearby municipalities, including Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Ozamiz City, Tangub City, and parts of Zamboanga del Sur.
The opening ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Hon. Mayor Barry Baguio of Kapatagan, NEMRO Regional Director Atty. Patricio Bernales Jr., NEMRO Executive Officer Nolan P. Gadia, and Iligan District Office Agent In-Charge Atty. Medrobel P. Ylanan, CPA, LLM. Also present were members of the Kapatagan Local Government Unit (LGU), NEMRO staff, and ILDO staff.
The new satellite office boasts a dedicated room for Clearance Services, equipped with the latest computer hardware and a modern server system. Additionally, the office features rooms for Derogatory Interviews, a Pantry Area, a Dormitory, and a Waiting Area for clients.
The opening ceremony began with the blessing of the new office and its equipment, followed by an invocation. Mayor Barry Baguio delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of streamlining government services in Kapatagan. He highlighted that the new office would significantly enhance the NBI’s capacity to carry out essential law enforcement and peace and order operations in the municipality and beyond.
ILDO Agent In-Charge Atty. Medrobel P. Ylanan also addressed the attendees, noting that this project has been in the works for a long time. He explained that with the completion of the Kapatagan Satellite Office, residents would no longer need to travel to distant cities like Pagadian, Dipolog, and Iligan to secure their NBI Clearances. This development, he said, would provide a more convenient and accessible clearance system for the local populace.
NEMRO Regional Director Atty. Patricio Bernales Jr. reiterated that the opening of the satellite office was a long-held dream of Mayor Baguio. He pointed out that this initiative was part of the Mayor’s broader project to streamline government services. With the new office in place, Atty. Bernales stated that the NBI is now closer to the people, enhancing its capacity to conduct law enforcement operations effectively.
The opening of the Kapatagan Satellite Office represents a significant step forward in improving the delivery of government services and ensuring that residents have easier access to vital clearance services.
