Grandma-core is definitely a thing now, according to Megan Fox.
Today, the Jennifer’s Body actress debuted a sultry new look on Instagram that combined the best of her signature vixen style with the ’70s-era penchant for earthy-toned floral velour furniture.
She wore a flowy top and skintight pants, both of which bore an abstract brown pattern reminiscent of the retro couches you may have found in your grandparents’ home. Fox even added an example photo of said couch to her Instagram post, joking in the caption, “Everybody’s grandma had that one sofa…swipe.” (Can you smell the cigarette smoke-stained furniture just looking at it?)
In addition to the bold printed set, the actress wore a black-and-brown gingham mesh halter top with chest cutouts and a brown belt wrapped around her waist. A matching gingham headband adorned her hair, while other accessories included a caramel suede handbag by Manu Atelier and a pair of clear pumps that showed off a bright-green pedicure. Snazzy.
Fox works with celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly to curate her deliciously off-kilter street style and red-carpet looks. For instance, Fox enlisted Reilly’s expertise for her naked Mugler dress from last year’s VMAs, her red-hot Peter Dundas moment at the Met Gala, and her “Dracula’s maid”-inspired corset outfit at the Jimmy Choo x Mugler show.
Reilly—who has also styled Hailey Bieber, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ciara, and more—described Fox’s eclectic style to WWD.
“She wears stuff that other people just can’t wear, and that’s what’s really fun for me as a stylist,” Reilly said. “I think that’s how you give everyone their own sort of individual flavor. There’s no other client I have that could have ever worn those [David Koma] tights in the middle of the day.”
