DAVAO CITY —The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new 3.7-kilometer access road in Barangay Laperian, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, significantly benefiting local farming communities.
DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia announced that the newly constructed two-lane portland cement concrete pavement road enhances accessibility to essential services and neighboring areas.
The road reduces travel time by 15 to 20 minutes, facilitating quicker and safer transportation of coconut products to nearby markets.
The P40 million project also includes a 48-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe culvert, stone masonry, and thermoplastic pavement markings for added safety. Implemented by the DPWH Zamboanga del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office, the road aims to support local farmers and improve regional connectivity
