DAVAO CITY, Philippines —Fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy remains within the compound of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), according to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao Region).
The PRO-11 has reiterated its commitment to executing the arrest warrant for the wanted sect leader despite ongoing challenges.
Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, spokesperson for the PRO-11 Special Task Group (STG) Teknon Alpha, assured the public that the operation to apprehend Quiboloy is proceeding as planned. “I would like to emphasize that we are strictly observing legal procedures in this operation,” Alba said during a press conference. He added that specific details could not be disclosed to prevent compromising the ongoing search.
The police have been conducting an extensive search within the 30-hectare KOJC compound but could not provide a timeline for Quiboloy’s arrest. “We are still actively searching the extensive area,” Alba explained.
The search has been further complicated by public statements from Lawyer Israelito Torreon, who ridiculed the police’s claims about detecting Quiboloy’s presence.
During a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Torreon mocked the police’s claim of detecting a heartbeat in what they referred to as a bunker. “The heartbeat keeps moving in the so-called bunker. Wala naman siya dito eh?” Torreon said, implying that Quiboloy was not present.
When pressed about whether Quiboloy is inside the KOJC compound, Torreon admitted, “I really do not know where he is and therefore I could not answer your question.”
Lt. Col. Jerick Filosofo, the secondary spokesperson for STG Teknon Alpha, reiterated their belief that Quiboloy is still within the KOJC premises. “We have a reasonable belief that Quiboloy remains within the KOJC compound. This assessment is based on information from multiple sources,” Filosofo stated.
Maj. Catherine Dela Rey, PRO-11 spokesperson, also expressed confidence that Quiboloy is inside the compound, where police have identified an underground facility. “Our primary objective is to arrest Quiboloy and four other suspects associated with him,” Dela Rey emphasized.

Addressing concerns and rumors about the nature of the police operation, Dela Rey clarified, “We want to assure the public that our focus is solely on executing the arrest warrant. We are not targeting the church structure or its members.” She added, “Our mandate is to implement the court’s order, and we are committed to doing so with respect for the law and for all parties involved.”
The ongoing search and the complexities of the operation highlight the challenges faced by law enforcement in apprehending Quiboloy, who remains elusive despite extensive efforts and public scrutiny.
