LALA, Lanao del Norte — Jhon Cleo Castillo Quimada, a member of the Lala National High School Bluehawks Pep Squad, has been awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious San Beda University in Metro Manila.
Manuel Abad, coach of the San Beda Red Corps Cheering Squad, personally visited Lala to assess the skills of the young cheerleaders in the Bluehawks Pep Squad.
“Cleo is strong and talented, and we recognized his potential to join our team,” Coach Manuel remarked. After observing Jhon Celo’s impressive skills, he was offered a spot at the university, which included free tuition, food, and accommodations for the course of his choice.
Quimada left his town on August 1.
Cleo is the second child of Jermez and Gema Quimada, who reside in Purok Dao, Maranding, Lala, Lanao del Norte.
Earlier this year, seven members of the Bluehawks Pep Squad were awarded full scholarships to Adamson University in Metro Manila, where they also received free tuition, dormitory accommodations, food, and allowances.
The Bluehawks Pep Squad is led by several coaches, including head coach Jovanny Pangasian, assistant coach Ace Manlosa, and Lourelei Joy Apalla, head of the MAPEH Department at Lala National High School.
