KoJC officials to PNP: Red carpet ready; PNP to KoJC: We want Action now

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ have expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in their search for the group’s leader, Apollo Quiboloy.

The officials of KoJC claim to be prepared to “roll out the red carpet” for police operations, provided the authorities present a valid arrest warrant.

During a Senate hearing on Tuesday conducted by the Committee on Peace and Order and Dangerous Drugs, KoJC minister Carlo Catiil sarcastically stated that they are ready to welcome the PNP with a “red carpet,” contingent upon the presentation of a legal warrant.

To the committee’s surprise, Police XI Regional Director Nicolas Torre III confirmed that the Pasig court had indeed issued arrest warrants for Quiboloy and his co-accused.

Torre assured the committee that the police are prepared to execute the warrants and enter the KoJC properties because they have the necessary legal authority.

Torre inquired, “When can we proceed, Sir? We already have the warrant. Perhaps we can schedule the operation today, even without the red carpet.”

This unexpected response caught some committee members off guard.

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa read the details of the arrest warrant, which includes charges against Quiboloy and his co-accused Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada, Jackielyn Roy, and Sylvia Cemañes. The charges pertain to violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, which is a non-bailable offense.

Additionally, Quiboloy faces charges of sexual abuse of a minor, while his co-accused have previously posted bail in relation to child abuse allegations.

Addressing concerns raised by KOJC’s legal counsel Israelito Torreon about the legality of a police patrol conducted on June 10, Vice Chairperson Alberto Bernardo of the National Police Commission remarked, “If the judge did not recall that order, there is a presumption of regularity in the police’s actions.”

Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos emphasized that the resolution to the situation lies in a straightforward solution: “The only way to resolve this issue is for Pastor Quiboloy to surrender.”
