Davao Police arrest stabbing suspects in 3-Minute Response Time

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — At 3:58 PM, the hotline of the Davao City Police Office received a call reporting that someone had been stabbed at an establishment on Torres St. in Barangay 11-B, near the regional office of the Department of Education.

By 4:00 PM, police arrived in a mobile unit and arrested the two suspects. The victim, who had been stabbed in the neck, was quickly taken to an ambulance and transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

It took two minutes for the police to arrest the suspects.

“Within two minutes, a mobile unit was dispatched to the area, and the suspects were arrested. They are now at the station being investigated,” said San Pedro Police Chief Major Emmanuel Manlatikan in an interview with Newsline.

The suspects are identified as alias Rommel, 33, and alias Warren, 37, both from Torres St. Scissors were found in the possession of one of the suspects.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has implemented the 3-Minute Response Time (3-MRT) initiative for less than a month.

“The innovation is in the process of being perfected. Cooperation among Davao City residents and guests plays a crucial role in this system, as the city police will do our best to ensure that the system benefits every Davaoeño,” said Acting City Police Director Colonel Hansel M. Marantan.
