Daring Davao pawnshop heist: Suspect nabbed, firearms and millions in jewelry recovered on NewsLine Philippines - Building Information Highway for the Community
DAVAO CITY – A daring robbery took place at Hannah Pawnshop, Ilustre Branch in Barangay 3-A, Davao City, on the morning of February 26, 2025, when a group of armed individuals stormed the establishment and looted valuables worth millions.
According to police reports, around five suspects carried out the heist at approximately 9:55 AM, seizing assorted jewelry estimated to be worth between ₱40 million to ₱100 million before escaping towards Bankerohan Public Market.
However, in a swift response, authorities launched a hot pursuit operation, leading to the arrest of one of the suspects, identified as Jonny Dejito Bulawan, a resident of Albuera, Leyte.
San Pedro Police Chief Major Emmanuel Manlatican immediately formed a team led by Narciso N. Potot Jr..
Recovered from the arrested suspect were the following items: One M16 rifle with live ammunition, One 9mm Trooper pistol, One Honda TMX 125 motorcycle (black, with temporary plate number 1501-303378)
And a sack bag containing assorted stolen jewelry
Legal counsel Atty. Miguel Palma Gil confirmed the estimated value of the stolen items. Authorities continue to track down the remaining suspects and urge the public to report any information that may aid in their capture.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the possibility of a larger organized crime syndicate being involved in the operation. Security measures in the city’s business districts have also been heightened following the incident. More updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
