DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The fuel suppliers for Zamboanga City Hall have agreed to reduce diesel and gasoline prices in response to Mayor John Dalipe’s request.
During the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, September 2, Mayor Dalipe announced that the supplier had complied with his request outlined in a letter dated August 31, 2024.
As part of the agreement, the price of gasoline will be lowered to PHP 65 per liter, down from PHP 77.00, and diesel will be reduced to PHP 65 per liter, from PHP 84.00.
Dalipe had initially stated on August 31, calling for a reduction in fuel prices supplied to the local government.
This request was prompted by a significant drop in fuel costs observed during the third quarter of 2024, which warranted an adjustment in the prices of petroleum products supplied to the city government.
The supplier’s decision to lower the prices underscores the importance of strong collaboration between the government and private sector to ensure efficient service delivery to Zamboanga’s residents.
