DAVAO CITY — Veteran broadcast journalist Fernando “Dindo” Amparo has been appointed Director General of the Presidential Broadcast Service – Bureau of Broadcast Services (PBS-BBS).
He took his oath of office before Presidential Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez on September 18.
The PBS-BBS operates radio stations nationwide, with DZRB Radyo ng Bayan Manila serving as its flagship station.
Amparo began his media career in 1987 as a reporter for Radyo ng Bayan in Lucena City. He later worked as a reporter for DZMM before becoming a TV reporter, ultimately serving as chief of ABS-CBN’s Middle East Bureau and head of its Integrated News Gathering team.
Amparo replaces outgoing Director General Rizal Giovanni P. Aportadera.
