Davao City provides conflict-management training to senior citizens

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The City Government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), has initiated leadership and conflict-management training for senior citizens.

This training is designed to equip participants with valuable skills for effectively leading their respective chapters or groups.

CSWDO Head Julie Dayaday emphasized the importance of these skills for senior citizen leaders, noting that effective management and leadership are crucial for their roles. “Even though they are senior citizens, it is still important to train them on how to manage their chapter,” Dayaday said in an interview with the City Information Office.

The training also focused on conflict management, teaching senior citizens how to address disputes and disagreements respectfully. “Conflict management is essential, particularly because our chapters include both professionals and non-professionals. It is important for our senior leaders to handle these dynamics effectively,” Dayaday added.

This leadership and conflict-management training program underscores the local government’s commitment to empowering senior citizens.
