DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a male content creator late last night, August 16, at around 10:45 p.m. at a restobar in Bypass Maa, Davao City.
The suspect was reportedly carrying a significant amount of illegal drugs and was said to be intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
The NBI identified the arrested individual as “Briand,” a content creator who is the stepson of a regional director in the Davao Region.
According to NBI Director Archie Albao, the substances seized included marijuana oil, which was found in the vape device Briand was carrying.
The evidence collected from the suspect includes:
- One sachet of dried leaves believed to be marijuana
- One 30ml bottle of suspected marijuana oil (buy-bust item)
- One 2ml cartridge of suspected marijuana oil (buy-bust item)
- Thirty-eight self-sealing sachets containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana, totaling 35 grams (possession), valued at PHP 4,375
- One clingwrap containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana, totaling 30 grams, valued at PHP 3,750
- One 30ml bottle of marijuana oil, valued at PHP 1,500
- Fifteen bottles labeled “Love and Respect by Briand,” containing suspected marijuana oil
- Three mobile phones, One sling bag, One fake PHP 1,000 bill, One genuine PHP 1,000 bill, One empty plastic cellophane
The suspect is currently in the custody of the authorities.
In response to the arrest, the suspect’s brother posted on social media, expressing doubts about the incident.
Some onlookers claimed that the suspect’s family managed to leave the scene during the buy-bust operation.
Director Albao commented that marijuana oil in vape devices is typically sold for PHP 200 to PHP 500.
