DAVAO CITY, Philippines — In a dramatic turn of events, an ambulance from the local government of Mawab overturned early Tuesday morning, June 18, while responding to an emergency. The accident occurred at approximately 6:23 AM at Km 68 on the National Highway in Barangay Fountain, Mawab.
The Mawab Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) reported the incident on their official Facebook page. According to their statement, the government-owned Mitsubishi L300 AUV lost control and flipped over while en route to assist at a separate accident scene.
The MDRRMC explained that the driver of the ambulance lost control of the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off its path and turn upside down. Remarkably, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the ambulance or any bystanders.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to understand the factors that contributed to the driver losing control. This incident underscores the critical need for caution and vigilance on the roads, particularly for emergency response vehicles.
The community is urged to remain mindful of emergency vehicles and give them the right of way to help ensure safe and timely responses.
