DAVAO CITY— The wife of Bansalan Davao del Sur village chief died after a grenade exploded inside their elf truck along the national highway in Panabo City yesterday evening was recently released.
Panabo police identified the victim as Loreta Abapo, wife of Arnulfo Abapo, the barangay captain of New Opon,
Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.
A source told Newsline that Loreta was recently released after their house was raided and authorities found undocumented firearms.
Police report showed that Abapo was inside the elf truck traversing the national highway along of J.P. Laurel in Panabo City at around 6:50 in the evening when the grenade exploded.
Her son Yushiheto, who drove the vehicle was unharmed.
The police report said a riding onboard Yamaha Aerox over took their vehicle and lobbed the grenade
Panabo Mayor Jose Relampagos ordered the Panabo City police to conduct a post blast investigation.
