Harper’s BAZAAR has won its first National Magazine Award in General Excellence for Service and Lifestyle, the most prestigious honor at the esteemed annual awards ceremony, which recognizes merit across the magazine industry.
Editor-in-Chief Samira Nasr accepted the Ellie award on Tuesday night in New York City, where she was joined by executive editor Leah Chernikoff, digital director Nikki Ogunnaike, and contributing editor-at-large Stephen Mooallem.
“This journey began over a year and a half ago, and tonight’s recognition is received by all of us at Harper’s BAZAAR with profound, profound gratitude,” Nasr said. “The beauty of this role is the teamwork. It has always been about the ‘we’ for me in magazine making and the team and group of collaborators that I could assemble on the stories that we could tell together. I want to thank all the writers, photographers, creatives, models, and everyone who has joined us on this journey.”
