Jetstar Asia to end operations on July 31, 2025 on NewsLine Philippines - Building Information Highway for the Community
DAVAO CITY (June 12) — Low-cost carrier Jetstar Asia (3K) announced on Wednesday that it will permanently cease operations effective July 31, 2025, following a gradual reduction in its flight schedule over the coming weeks.
The airline, headquartered in Singapore, said the decision was made after an extensive review of its long-term viability amid rising operational costs and intensifying competition in the Southeast Asian aviation market.
“This is an incredibly difficult decision,” Jetstar said in a statement, citing escalating supplier costs, airport fees, and aviation charges as major factors behind the move. “Despite our best efforts to offset these rising costs, they are expected to continue, putting unsustainable pressure on Jetstar Asia’s ability to offer low fares.”
The closure of Jetstar Asia (3K) does not affect Jetstar Airways (JQ) flights, including those operating international routes between Australia and Southeast Asia, nor does it impact Jetstar Japan (GK) operations.
Jetstar Asia assured its passengers that support systems are in place to assist with the transition.
Flights will continue to operate until July 31, albeit on a progressively reduced schedule. Affected passengers will be contacted directly regarding any changes to their itineraries.
Customers with bookings beyond July 31 are eligible for full refunds, which can be processed via the Manage Booking section on Jetstar’s website.
Jetstar Vouchers: Unused vouchers for Jetstar Asia flights will be converted to monetary refunds starting August.
Club Jetstar memberships: Refunds will be automatically processed from August to the original payment card.
Jetstar Asia flights remain on sale and operational until the closure date. The company advised travelers to monitor their flight status ahead of departure and assured that unaffected flights will proceed as scheduled.
Jetstar Asia thanked its passengers and staff for their support and loyalty throughout its years of service.
