Davao, Davao del Norte to Face Power Interruptions June 6–9 on NewsLine Philippines - Building Information Highway for the Community


DAVAO CITY (June 4) — Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) has announced a series of scheduled power interruptions on June 6, 7, 8, and 9, 2025, which will affect several areas in Davao City and Davao del Norte.
The first scheduled outage will occur on Friday, June 6, from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., to facilitate the repair of a damaged utility pole near the Sto. Tomas Substation. Affected areas include Sto. Tomas – Carmen Road, particularly portions of Tibal-og near Marsman to La Libertad crossing, and surrounding barangays such as Bobongon and Balagunan.
The second set of power interruptions is linked to the decommissioning of Panabo Substation. To minimize disruption, Davao Light will shift loads to nearby substations for one hour on Saturday, June 7, from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and normalize the setup on Monday, June 9, from 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Areas to be affected include:
- San Vicente Substation to Sto. Nino Carmen
- Quezon Street, Panabo to Roxas Street and Daang Maharlika Highway
- Panabo Wharf area
- Tadeco Road to Nanyo
- Portions of New Visayas, Rachoville, Southern Davao, and Mabitad Extension
Additionally, a 4-hour outage is scheduled on Sunday, June 8, from 12:01 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., impacting customers along Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo from SeaOil near San Isidro Street to Panabo City Hall.
The third set of power interruptions will support line upgrading in Matina, Davao City. Load transfer will occur for 15 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, with normalization scheduled for another 15 minutes between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Affected customers include those along Diversion Road, from Marapao Carwash to Dhalia’s Soup No. 5.
A related 6-hour power interruption is set from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on June 8, affecting areas from Matina Substation along Matina Pangi Road, Matina Crossing, and Matina Aplaya Road up to Shanghai Hotel Inn and adjacent locations.
Davao Light apologized for the inconvenience and assured customers that efforts will be made to complete maintenance as scheduled. Unforeseen issues may lead to delays, but safety and service restoration remain the company’s top priorities.
