NBI arrests 12 Chinese nationals for illegal possession of firearms on NewsLine Philippines - Building Information Highway for the Community
DAVAO CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation – National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) arrested 12 Chinese nationals on March 31, 2025, for illegal possession of firearms in a raid conducted in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City.
The operation was carried out in line with the directive of NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.) to intensify efforts against all forms of criminality. The arrests were made following the implementation of three search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court of Muntinlupa City for violations of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Agents from the NBI-NCR, assisted by barangay officials, representatives of the Homeowners Association, Ayala Alabang Village security personnel, and the local police, searched multiple residential houses and vehicles.
At the first location, authorities seized five pistols with magazines and ammunition. At the second site, they recovered four pistols, two Taser guns, three bulletproof vests, tactical and kitchen knives, handcuffs, and several identification cards bearing the names Yi Wan, Wang Zenghui, Yichun Liu, Zhou Chenchen, Zhang Yu, Xiu Zhang, and Zhang Qi Ja.
At the third site, the agents confiscated one pistol with a magazine and ammunition, additional tactical gear, and IDs under the names Wang Zenghui and Wang Weibin. Two vehicles, also subject to the search warrants, were seized during the operation.
The 12 Chinese nationals were arrested and presented for inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Muntinlupa.
NBI Director Santiago lauded the NCR team for their swift operation, warning individuals engaged in illegal activities that the NBI remains resolute in upholding the law.
