DAVAO CITY –— On a rainy Tuesday, February 25, Police Regional Director Victor Rosete, accompanied by Davao City Police Director Colonel Hansel Marantan, visited the troops stationed in the hinterlands of Paquibato District.

During the visit at the Paquibato Police Precinct led by Major Janus Macli-ing, Rosete inspected the conditions of the local forces and congratulated them for their achievements. “I am here to check on your condition and to congratulate you on your successful achievements, particularly in closing down illegal quarry operations and enhancing peace and order in this area,” he stated.

This commendation came amid the recent shutdown of illegal quarry operators—a measure that has not only curbed criminal activity but has also contributed to environmental conservation and improved community safety.

Marantan, a familiar face in the area with a long history of field visits, provided Rosete with a detailed briefing on the overall security environment of Davao City. He explained that the city police have successfully secured the borders with neighboring provinces—Davao del Norte, Bukidnon, and North Cotabato—through regular patrols and coordinated operations. These measures have been instrumental in deterring potential threats and ensuring that any disturbances are swiftly addressed.

Officials noted that while sporadic challenges can still emerge, the overall peace and order condition in Paquibato has stabilized considerably due to these proactive initiatives. The combined efforts in law enforcement and community engagement have instilled a renewed sense of security among local residents. Moreover, the enhanced border security not only prevents the influx of criminal elements from adjacent areas but also reinforces the region’s broader strategy for sustainable development and public safety.

Rosete’s visit, his first in the countryside since assuming office, underscores the commitment of Davao City Police to remain present and responsive in all parts of the region. The ongoing support for the troops and the continuous monitoring of critical areas like Paquibato are seen as vital steps toward preserving the tranquility and order that the community relies on.
