DAVAO CITY – A drinking session turned violent in Barangay Santo Niño, Tugbok District, on the evening of November 17, 2024, leaving one man seriously injured after being stabbed six times with a broken bottle.
Police from Tugbok Police Station 9 promptly responded to the incident, which occurred around 10:00 p.m. in 1st Talipapa. Authorities arrested the suspect, identified only as “Frank,” a 34-year-old resident of Purok 23, Talipapa, Barangay Santo Niño.
According to the police investigation, the suspect and the victim, known as “Archie,” a 29-year-old resident of the area, were drinking together when an argument escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Frank allegedly stabbed Archie multiple times using a broken bottle.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, while the suspect was taken into police custody and is now detained. However, authorities reported that the broken bottle used in the stabbing could not be recovered as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
