DAVAOCity, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) released the official schedule of activities for the 2025 mid-term national and local elections on Wednesday.
Under Resolution No. 10999, the Comelec en banc established the election period from January 12 to June 11, 2025. During this time, a nationwide gun ban will be enforced.
Key dates in the 2025 election calendar include:
- Campaign Periods:
- National candidates (senators and party-lists): February 11 to May 10, 2025.
- Local candidates: March 28 to May 10, 2025.
- Voting Periods:
- Overseas voting: April 13 to May 12, 2025.
- Local absentee voting: April 28 to April 30, 2025.
- Filing of Candidacy:
- Filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for all national and local positions: October 1 to October 8, 2024.
- Filing of Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance of Nomination (CON-CAN) for party-list groups: October 1 to October 8, 2024.
- Substitution of Candidates:
- Allowed until October 8, 2024, for voluntary substitutions.
- Allowed until mid-day of election day for substitutions due to disqualification or death of the original candidate.
The mid-term elections are scheduled for May 12, 2025.
