Zendaya is on her way to the 2022 Emmys in a look that brings to mind Old Hollywood.
The strapless black peplum gown by Valentino features a sweetheart neckline, as well as a built-in belt with a bow in the front. She’s elevating the ensemble even more with a show-stopping diamond necklace from Bulgari and diamond stud earrings.
Her glam is equally timeless: The actress’s hair is in a sophisticated wavy ‘do held together by a large black bow to match her dress, and her makeup is bronzy and natural.
“I’m on my way Emmys 2022,” Zendaya captioned an Instagram post featuring a photo of her in the chic look, tagging her stylist, Law Roach.
Tonight, the Euphoria actress is up for four awards in the categories of Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
This year’s nominations had her making Emmys history, yet again, as the youngest two-time Emmy lead-acting nominee ever, according to Variety. She is also officially the first Black woman and second Black person overall to be nominated for acting and songwriting awards during the same awards show year. She’s recognized for songwriting credits on two songs featured in the hit HBO series: “Elliot’s Song” and “I’m Tired.”
Zendaya previously made history at the 2020 Emmys. Then 24 years old, she became the youngest person to take home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress, for which she was once again honored for her role as Rue in Euphoria.
“I know this is a really weird time to be celebrating but I do just want to say that there is hope in the young people. I know our TV show doesn’t always seem like a great example of that, but there is hope in the young people,” she said at the time. “I just want to say to all my peers out there doing the work in the streets, I see you, I admire you, I thank you and thank you so, so much.”
