Prince Harry and Prince William to Stand Vigil for Queen Elizabeth II

Prince Harry and Prince William will reunite tomorrow at the final vigil for their late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The brothers will attend the service on Saturday with their cousins, the late monarch’s six other grandchildren: Zara Tindall, Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise, and James, Viscount Severn. Together, they will stand vigil beside the queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall for 15 minutes.

William, the new Prince of Wales, will stand at the head of the coffin, and Harry, the Duke of Sussex, at the foot. At King Charles III’s request, they will both be in military uniform, BAZAAR.com has learned.

BAZAAR reported yesterday that while Harry was initially not granted permission to wear his military uniform to his late grandmother’s mourning ceremonies, because he is not a working royal, Buckingham Palace later changed its mind and said he can wear it to the vigil.

The queen’s other grandchildren will wear morning coats and dark formal dresses with decorations.

William will be flanked by Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, and Harry by Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, will stand near the middle of the coffin.

The grandchildren will reunite again on Monday morning, when the queen’s funeral is set to take place at Westminster Abbey in London. Following the service, the queen will be buried at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, where her husband of more than 70 years, Prince Philip, was buried following his death last year.
