Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor seems to be growing up as a relatively normal kid—all things considered.
The three-year-old made plenty of adorable cameos in mom Duchess Meghan’s new interview with The Cut. Details from the story share an inside look at the way Meghan and Prince Harry are raising their family, which also includes one-year-old daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana, in California.
Meghan opened up about being able to personally pick up Archie from school, something she never would have gotten the opportunity to do without attracting a royal photo call and a press pen, she told the outlet. “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,” she said.

Meghan and Harry also previously made a point of accompanying Archie to a classmate’s birthday party, to other attendees’ surprise. “I was in a bouncy castle, and I saw this 1-year-old inside. I was like, ‘Where’s your mom?’ And this mom on the outside goes, ‘Oh, hi! I’m here. I wasn’t sure if I should come in,'” Meghan recalled. “I was like, ‘Do you need your child? Of course you can come in.'”
Currently, the couple are in the process of teaching Archie his manners. “We always tell him: ‘Manners make the man. Manners, manners, manners, manners, manners,'” Meghan said.
During those lessons, Meghan recalled a maxim about salt and pepper that she learned as a child: “‘You never move one without the other.’ That’s me and Harry. We’re like salt and pepper. We always move together.”
